The Sports and Gym Injuries Course provides a unique online training experience focused on injuries that occur during workouts in a gym or fitness situation as well as injuries occurring from sport-specific conditioning. This course is also available to physiotherapists and physiotherapy students that are looking to join the area of fitness and athletes, fitness professionals or sports rehab professionals (especially in the area of injury assessment, prevention, and rehabilitation), and fitness trainers (IAA or fitness professions) as gym injuries, fitness injuries, sports injuries arise in this area when injuries are primarily sprains, strains, muscle tears, joint instability, and overuse syndromes that occur in the gym.
The education program is/write-up is focused on evidence-based practice (both with exercise and injury management) for musculoskeletal rehabilitation, improvement of mobility and strength conditioning, and injury awareness and discovery for injury patterns that seem to occur in gym workouts like weight training, HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), CrossFit-type workouts, and functional movement workouts. Course participants will have an understanding of how to recognize, assess and learn about the biomechanics of lifting, running, and jumping to provide expanded corrective strategies that they may apply in rehabilitation once learned.
This course provides education with experiential interactions of case review, exercise prescriptions, injury specific rehabilitation techniques, and offer confidence to treat active injured clients and athletes. The online course comes along with links, and downloadable material that includes resources, clinical tools and assessments are available for use. Upon completion of all modules, course participants receive a recognized certificate of completion of the course in sports physiotherapy and sporting and fitness domains.
