REITs – Real Estate Investment Trusts

REITs allow people to invest in real estate without buying property. A REIT is a company that owns income-generating real estate like malls, offices, or apartments. It collects rent and gives profits back to investors in the form of dividends.
REITs are listed on stock exchanges, so they can be bought and sold like shares. This offers liquidity and lower capital requirements compared to buying property directly.
India introduced its first REIT in 2019. It’s a good option for those who want real estate exposure with less money and more transparency.
